FAQ's

Please find below some of our frequently asked questions.

At Joint Muscle Rehab we work with clients of all ages with a wide range of health conditions including problems affecting the bones, joints, muscles and soft tissue commonly resulting in niggling back pain, neck pain and shoulder pain. Our clients are invested in their bodies and willing to work together to do regular work with us in our clinics and at home to achieve their goals to live a pain-free life. Our practice does not offer quick fixes to indefinitely cover over the pain. We work with our clients on a regular basis over longer periods of time to continuously maintain and nurture the body and the pain point.

Please contact us if you would like to discuss how we could work together.

When you book your appointment, you are holding a space on our calendar that is no longer available to our other patients. In order to be respectful of your fellow patients, please contact us as soon as you know you will not be able to make your appointment.

If cancellation is necessary, we require that you contact us at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments are in high demand, and your advanced notice will allow another patient access to that appointment time.

Late Cancellations/No-Shows

A cancellation is considered late when the appointment is cancelled less than 24 hours before the appointed time. A no-show is when a patient misses an appointment without cancelling. In either case, we will charge the patient a missed appointment fee.

Every patient responds differently, and recommended treatment plans vary according to the individual.  We with with clients who’s problems cannot be fully resolved, with this in mind, it will be recommended that treatment is given at regular intervals on a long term basis to maintain the function and keep symptoms at bay as far as possible.

Appointments are 45mins long.

At the first consultation, a full case history of your symptoms, as well as information about your lifestyle and diet will be taken. You may also be observed making some simple movements to help make a diagnosis. You will usually be asked to remove some clothing near the area of the body to be examined. We respect that for religious and other reasons, some people may not be comfortable to do so, in which case, please bring loose clothing, such as jogging pants and a t-shirt to wear.

Therapists are trained to examine areas of the body using a highly-developed sense of touch, known as palpation, to determine conditions and identify the body’s points of weakness or excessive strain. The therapist is skilled in mobilising and manipulative techniques which is reinforced by guidance on diet and exercise.

The therapist will discuss with you the most appropriate treatment plan, estimating the likely number of sessions needed to treat your condition effectively. You will receive treatment on your first visit unless the therapist considers any treatment inappropriate at this time.

Please bring details of any prescribed medication or supplements you are taking. If you have any recent relevant X-rays, scans or medical reports please bring these with you.
